I am Lyn Suddards, a retired nurse and I live in Ashford Town Centre. With my husband, I owned the Mr Simms Olde Sweete Shoppe and have been involved in the local community for the last 12 years. I have thoroughly enjoyed being your Labour Councillor for Beaver Ward over the last 4 years (from 2019 to 2023). It has been a privilege to represent you and to carry out the pledges I made at my election.
  • I have been visible in the Ward, delivering medication and food parcels during the pandemic.
  • I have represented your individual issues with the council over parking, flytipping, nuisance neighbours, housing benefit, potholes, repairs etc.
  • I successfully defended Watercress field from development and have used some of my members grant to plant bulbs in green spaces as a lasting legacy.
  • I secured a commitment from ABC to redevelop Court Wurtin.
  • I have led the Ashford safer streets campaign to improve safety for women and all in our community.
Having elected both of us (Kate Leavey and I) in May 2023 we will continue to be visible and together we will both campaign tirelessly for
  • Safer streets and campaign for more visible policing in our area
  • To protect green spaces, play areas & encourage wild flower meadows.
  • The regeneration of Ashford’s town centre making it family friendly and safe to visit.
